Palgrave Fishway

The Palgrave Fishway — A Study of Effectiveness (ON) - Humber River Chapter

The Palgrave Fishway is located on Ontario's Humber River, the largest watershed in the Toronto region. The Palgrave region of the Humber is designated as a cold water stream capable of supporting resident populations of both brown and brook trout.

In 2008, CFF funds were used to study and assess the effectiveness of the fishway on a variety of species of fish including resident salmonids. Using innovative tracking techniques, this is considered original research. There is currently no scientific information available on the use of fishways by resident salmonids and other native species.
