A 2006 CCFUND PROJECT

WHITEMAN’S CREEK DAM REMOVAL
(Middle Grand Chapter)
The goal of this project is the removal of a decommissioned dam and the rehabilitation of the site afterwards. The removal of the dam will increase connectivity of fish populations, naturalize the riparian area and flow regime in this section of river and remove liability for the property owners.
The removal of this dam will not only increase fish movement through the area, but increase water quality (oxygen and temperature) through the removal of the residual impoundment of water and the incorporation of extensive riparian plantings.
