Palgrave studyPALGRAVE FISHWAY EFFECTIVENESS STUDY
(Humber River Chapter)

The Palgrave Fishway study greatly benefited from the CCFund. Dollars were used to purchase water temperature loggers which provided critical data on the temperatures associated with fish movement through the system. In addition, Coldwater Conservation Fund moneys were used to purchase a gauge station to monitor minute changes in water flow.

This season we were able to test the new equipment and build the necessary components for monitoring next year. Both these data will aid in our understanding of the limiting factors associated with this system and allow us to recommend changes to the fishway design and management to improve fish movement.
