ENHANCEMENT PROJECT

(Bow River Chapter)

This project continues work started in 2000 along the Bow River. It is important to continue the project not only for those sites yet to be done, but to maintain the investment already made in previously wrapped sites. The 3-5 year cycle adjusts the wires for tree growth, and repairs any damage to the wiring.

Actions include:

• wrapping cottonwood trees of all sizes to protect from beaver grazing;
• re-visiting and maintaining previously wrapped sites on a 3-5 year cycle;
• removing restricted and noxious weeds from selected areas;
• cleaning and removing garbage, debris and old wire as encountered.
