TROUT RIVER HABITAT RESTORATION
(Prince County Chapter, PEI)

The Trout River Habitat Restoration project will provide cover and access to spawning sites. Currently the tributary is of restricted use to fish because of the growth of alders in the stream channel and other stream blockages. The alders have restricted water flow, causing silt to settle out blocking fish passage and filling in pools. Woody debris, logs, etc. also block water flow and fish passage. The project will selectively remove the alders, woody debris and garbage, permitting fish cover and passage to spawning areas.
