MERVART PROPERTY STREAM CHANNEL RESTORATION PROJECT, PHASE 1, SITE SURVEY AND DESIGN
(Nottawasaga Chapter)

The intent of the overall project is to take advantage of local groundwater discharge into the stream bed and locally higher stream gradient to create a summer temperature/oxygen refuge habitat complex available to brook trout. This would be accomplished by creating a 6m wide, 130m long stream channel within the footprint of a current onstream pond. The intent of Phase I in 2006 was to survey the site and develop detailed construction plans for the restoration project.
